Slovenian tech firms forging ties with Russian space tech sector
Ljubljana, 20 April - Slovenian firms offered their solutions to Russian companies as a Slovenian-Russian business forum dedicated to space technologies was held in Ljubljana on Friday.
Slovenian companies are flexible and can easily integrate into the large structure of Russian firms, said Gorazd Mihelič, the director of investment promotion agency Spirit Slovenia.
He suggested companies that offer innovations and patented solutions would be particularly well suited to this type of cooperation, Spirit said in a press release.
Alenka Suhadolnik, the head of the economic diplomacy department at the Foreign Ministry, said Slovenia was very successful in the fields of artificial intelligence and big data.
She also pointed to blockchain as an area where Slovenia is among global leaders. "The government is setting up the requisite infrastructure ... Slovenia is a blockchain-friendly destination."
The business forum was organised by the Economy Ministry, Spirit and the Russian space agency Roscosmos as a follow-up to an international conference on space technologies held on Thursday.
