Slovenia joins Clean Hydrogen Partnership
Brussels, 21 November - Slovenia has signed a cooperation memorandum for the EU Clean Hydrogen Partnership. The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Climate and Energy said in a statement on Thursday that the cooperation contribute to the project North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley as well as in terms of renewable targets.
"We want to further our capacities and knowledge exchange for a more effective development and introduction of hydrogen technologies in Slovenia," Tina Seršen, a state secretary at the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Climate and Energy, said after signing the document in Brussels on Thursday.
The cooperation will allow Slovenia access to support in improving capacities, exchange of experience and the sharing of know-how and funding management, all of which will contribute to developing an effective hydrogen ecosystem.
Breakthrough green technologies will create significant opportunities for the corporate sector, the ministry added.
Indirectly, the cooperation creates opportunities in terms of breakthrough technologies and low- and no emissions solutions being developed by the science and research sector, and the corporate sector.
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership is a public-private partnership providing support for research and innovation in hydrogen tech. Between 2021 and 2027 the project will have received EUR 1 billion in EU funds and at least the same amount of private investments.
The EU also announced an additional EUR 200 million for the partnership in order to double hydrogen valley by 2025.
